5 Tips to make your property look its best before going on the market.

When you have decided to sell or let your property, there are a few things you can do to make it look its best. We have lined up a few tips:

  1. Declutter

One of the most important things when marketing a property for sale or to let is having everything tidy and clean, so the viewers can get a good idea of the size of the room and how to utilise the space. It does not have to be extremely organised, sometimes vendors, for example, worry about children’s toys laying around, however this does not have to be a negative. For instance, it can help the viewer see that this is a great property for a family and it also gives a property a ‘homely’ atmosphere. These things can help a buyer imagine themselves living at the property.

  1. Garden Maintenance

Similar to inside, maintaining the garden and outside spaces can make a great difference. If your property benefits from a garden, it is worth making sure the lawn has been mowed or the terrace has been jet washed. In addition, clean furniture and trimmed bushes or well-kept plants also help with leaving a good impression.

  1. Details

Small details like a nice fresh smell, background music and fresh flowers always help to make a home feel inviting. It also helps to put fresh fruit or a cake on the kitchen counter and make sure windows are dressed with curtains or blinds to add that homely feeling.

  1. Light

Make sure there is plenty of (natural) light coming in by opening blinds or putting a lamp in the right place. Mirrors in the right places or on the walls also help to make the property look more spacious.

  1. Don't forget the exterior

A lot of buyers pay close attention to the condition of the windows and the roof, as well as the driveway and fences and how these are maintained. A bit of paint and keeping the exterior up to date goes a long way.

Our team always arrives a few minutes early to viewings, therefore we can always make sure the lights are on and your property is presented in the best way possible.

We offer free valuations and will always advise if there is anything you could do to improve the look of your home and make it more appealing to buyers. If you are interested in a free
